I am a busy mom, artist, bartender, paddleboard slinger, and a Montessori teacher living on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I am obsessed with taking pictures, creating things, and painting everything. I am always outside and constantly inspired by the rhythms of the earth, the movement of the ocean, music, children and other beautiful humans, and when these things meet.

I created this site to showcase some of my work (and because all my friends and family told me I should, and it was time). I studied ceramics, sculpture, art history, photography, education, and oceanography in college at Old Dominion University with some of the finest teachers around.

my ART

I mentioned that I paint everything. Walls, floors, shells, flowerpots, broken things, surfboards, murals, and so many festival signs. See galleries for previous festival signage work and other projects such as local business signage, wedding maps,  the occasional logo design, and more.

I love photographic extremes, extreme color and extreme black and white. My photography is broken up into sections. Many of the landscapes and nature photos are from my current home by the ocean, some are from my home away from home- the Blue Ridge mountains, and others are from our travels. Most of the kid and animal photos are of my own family (and not for sale, because that's creepy). You'll notice that my daughter is the subject of most. My older  son has not approved the use of as many of his photos (although I snuck a few in) :)

a little about my little muse:

She loves seashells, fairies, and Broadway musicals. She loves all animals, especially chickens, sloths, narwhals, axolotls (look them up!), and unicorns. She never ceases to amaze me with her wisdom, kindness, and deep thoughts. She loves the Beatles and movies with talking animals, and I'm pretty sure she's part mermaid.
